A new englsh school in Manchester is recently added online! Another opportunity to improve your English, discover the British way of life and make new friends!
Manchester is a city that fulfils everyone’s wishes. It has something for everyone.
It’s one of the most liveliest and modern cities in the UK. There are plenty museums, theatres, cinemas and there is a huge shopping centre settled.
Reasons enough to explore the amazing cosmopolitan city!
But not only Manchester itself is great to discover. Places around it like the Lake District, Lancashire, York or Chester are also worth a visit! We operate a programme of excursions for people who would like to explore these kinds of places.

Manchester has the largest student population in England and that is mainly because a lot of students from abroad are coming over to study in this amazing place.
The school provides different English courses in two locations: Bow Chambers, settled in the middle of the centre of Manchester and the Manchester Business School, located in the university area and is the largest campus-based business school in the UK.
They provide in total seven English courses that you can attend all year round for longer or shorter periods and you can start whenever you want, because of the flexible schedules that they have. This means that there are not only possibilities to study in the summer, what normally language schools are offering.
You can choose between the normal or combined courses. The four normal courses contents only the English classes, but the three combined courses are English classes combined with a MBS Program (there are also different MBS Programs).

The Manchester Business School is settled in the perfect environment to study Business English, because it’s located in the business area of Manchester.
Teachers are qualified and they have experience in teaching Business English and even some of them have worked in the business world.
The Manchester Business School is probably one of the only schools that offers company visits for students. The school offers this to give you the opportunity to see how it works in an English company and to build up experience!
The facilities of the MBS are one of the best. There is a library, café and a restaurant with outside terraces available and the students can also use the computer area with internet access and free wi-fi connection!
The accommodation possibilities in Manchester for the period that you’re staying are like everywhere else. You can book a hotel, rent an apartment, book a hall of residence or even better for your English, stay with a host family.
So, where are you waiting for? Enjoy the other culture, learn the other language and have fun with making new friends!

Setting Goals in Choosing a Language Learning Method

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Language learning is an interesting asset and the method of learning a new language is relative to the needs and wants of a language learner.  One of the steps in language learning is to identify which method will do well for you.  There are many methods of language learning and sometimes it can be quite discouraging and tiring to find out which one really suits you.  How do you start choosing among all language learning methods?  Read on for a few tips on picking out the language learning method for you.

The first thing you should do in choosing a method of language learning is to ask yourself some questions and set goals.  Try to ask yourself the following questions: Do you have the time to learn a new language?  How much money are you willing to spend on language learning?  What are your study habits?
•    Do you have the time to learn a new language?  Knowing if you will be able to spend some of your valuable time on language learning is a must.  Time is an essential factor in learning a new language so you must figure out if you are willing to use your time on that goal and how you are going to spend it.  You may have a lot of free time to learn a new language or maybe you don’t but never lose hope.  Every second of your day is important so while you are doing some tasks which are not as strenuous, you can still keep your goal of learning a language simply by multi-tasking.  You can help develop your language skills by using high-quality language tapes or CDs which you can use and listen to while you are doing household chores, taking a walk, or driving and caught in traffic.  Rather than letting idle time go to waste, you it to your advantage to learn a new language and become productive!
•    How much money are you willing to spend on language learning?  This question should be answered thoroughly if you are determined to learn a new language.  How much you will be willing to spend will be able to help you which langue learning method to choose since each method comes with a different value.  Getting good value for your money or getting what you pay for is essential in learning a new language.  The money you will spend on a language school, language software, language audio materials can help you determine the quality of the language instruction you are getting.  However, you must also bare in mind that determination, passion and motivation to learn a new language can help you learn a new language even in inexpensive means.  Better figure out which method fits your budget and make the most out of it.
•    What are your study habits?  Study habits come in handy when you want to learn languages.  Almost everyone has good language learning skills even though if you are not fully aware of it.  Having good study habits will be very useful as you go on your language learning venture because it helps you fuel your interest in acquiring your target language.  In developing your language study habits, better determine what kind of student you are.  If you are computer savvy, you can use language software; if you are more on the visual type you can use video language instruction tools; if you are more interested in conversation, choose audio tools which will drill you with conversational skills; and the list can go on. Better use your strengths to your advantage in learning a new language and you will be surprised with the results.

After answering all those questions, then you are set to choose which method is best for you.  The method that you will be using will be the core of your language learning experience that is why you should choose a method which suits your learning style. After choosing which method you want to use, use the method to your advantage and at your set time for study.  One more useful tip is to always practice, practice, and practice!
Choosing your language learning method is important and if you work at it constantly, you will have good basic language skills of your target language in time.  Also remember that once you have learned the basics, don’t limit yourself to your chosen method but expand your horizons by trying out the other methods as well.
Happy language learning!

Summer Language Programs for College Preparation

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Are you set to go to college and yet you feel that you still need to prepare yourself with some skills in order to be better equipped when you face the hallways of college?  Get ready to face the amazing world of higher education by learning some skills which you can take with you and can be very useful for you as you go through your college life.  Participate in a summer language program in order for you to be able to have better communication and language skills when you enter college!

Summer language programs for college preparation can be very useful for you.  Whether or not you are going to study in a local university or abroad, improving your language skills can be very advantageous.  If you tend to study in a local institution for college, you should know what language is the mode of instruction in that school and of the course you are going to major in.  If your course involves studies of other countries and cultures, it will do you good if you already know the basics of the language by brushing up on your language skills or learning the language during summer!

Going to college in another country can also be an experience which can surely enrich your life.  You will be exposed to a different culture as well as various experiences you might not be able to experience at home.  If you have plans of studying abroad, most schools will require you to have at least basic knowledge of the locations’ native languages.  Learning the language of your college location during summer will indeed be very helpful and valuable.

Most colleges and universities which accommodate students from other countries recommend and require the incoming foreign students to participate in summer language programs before entering their college programs.  Being part of summer language college preparatory programs will introduce to you important factors of the language you will be learning and most programs give emphasis on vocabulary acquisition, listening comprehension, speaking skills and grammar.  Aside from helping you learn the language, you will also be given additional workshops on the history and culture of your destination.  That way, you will be familiar with your destination’s customs, traditions and way of life.

Summer language programs can be very intense and demanding.  Since summer lasts for just a few weeks, intensive language courses require you to speak the language most of the time so that you will be able to become accustomed to it rapidly and easily.  It is better if you communicate with your classmates in the program in your target language not only in the classroom but also during your free time.  Once you have qualified to go to college in the school in your country of choice, you will not have to experience the initial culture shock by not being able to speak the locals’ language since you already come prepared!

Pave the way to an exciting college experience by enrolling in a preparatory summer language program which can surely help you make things easier as you achieve your goals in life!

Learn a Foreign Language Abroad With Your Family This Summer

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Summer is that time of the year when you can take a break from the usual routine of school, work and other strenuous activities.  It is the time to relax, unwind and go on vacation whether by yourself, with your friends or with your family. Going on vacation abroad will be one of the most fun and exciting ways to spend your summer and there are a lot of things you can do while on vacation: you can go and see the famous attractions of the place you are visiting, learn more about its history, experience its culture and witness its various events, and learn the spoken language of the place.  Learning a foreign language abroad will surely make your summer worthwhile and it will be more enjoyable if you learn a new language together with your family!

Learning a foreign language together with the whole family allows the parents and the children to learn a new language while experiencing what the place where the language school is located has to offer.  Most language programs are designed to cater to the different needs of the family together and separately.  During summer there are some language schools which offer summer language programs for families.  The members of the family who are aged from eighteen years onwards will be able to choose from various short term courses for adults while those who are younger can participate in programs for juniors.  Most schools which offer summer language programs for families arrange and organize for almost everything in the program including the family’s accommodations and course activities such as sight seeing, excursions and other educational activities.  The goals of most language schools which offer family language programs include providing quality language education while ensuring that each language student, whether the parent or the child, to directly experience the natural environment of the language as well as the beauty, distinctiveness and diversity of the place where the target language is spoken.

Language learning with your family will be fun and exciting and it will surely help if your family will start to get oriented with the language and the culture of the destination even before you leave your home.  Being prepared will surely make a lot of things simpler for you and your family.  Learn the basics of the language by learning through books, the internet, and videos or audio discs which teach basic words and phrases.  Knowing a few words in the language and listening to it frequently before departure will give you an easier time to adapt to the language once you arrive on the place where your chosen language school is located.  Another helpful tip is to do research on the country and city where you are going.  That way, you will have an idea what is the culture and history of the place, have knowledge on which are its interesting spots, and be able to become accustomed to the place without difficulty.

Once you have everything ready and you have already booked your language course, be all set to have a fun summer with your loved ones!  You will never regret to do such a thrilling endeavor with your family and for sure, the memories that you will make together will last a lifetime!
