Our English courses are tailored to meet the specific needs of many different types of students. With programs that range from very intensive study to test preparation to youth and holiday experiences, we strive to help a variety of students eager to become proficient in English. Our Vancouver campus provides interesting and cost-effective programs for children and adults and their unique learning objectives.

Adult Programs

General Studies

1. Super-Intense ESL Program
This program is for serious students who want to become fluent as fast as possible. Students will study intensively.

2. Intense ESL Program
This program is similar to the Super-Intense ESL Program for Adults. Since there are no Friday afternoon classes in this program, students have the opportunity to start their weekend at 12:00 PM every Friday!
Hours Per Week: 27
Extra-curricular Activities from 4 pm to 5 pm are optional and may vary

3. Semi-Intense ESL Program
This program is similar to the Intense ESL Program for Adults. Since there are no Friday classes in this program, every weekend is a three-day “long weekend” during which students have the opportunity to explore the Greater Vancouver area.

4. Part-Time ESL Program
This program is perfect for students who want to have plenty of time to discover Vancouver while studying English.
Single-afternoon programs are available (minimum 4 weeks). Registration fees apply, but materials are included. One afternoon per week costs $175 for four weeks. Two or more afternoons per week cost $150 per afternoon for four weeks.

Specialized Studies

5. English for a Specific Purpose (ESP)
This program is perfect for students who want to improve their English skills in specific areas. The Friday morning class will help improve students’ fluency in English.

6. Test Preparation (TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS)
This program is perfect for students who want to write the TOEFL, TOEIC, or IELTS examinations. We provide students with the necessary skills to study for the examinations and to improve their test scores. The afternoon sessions benefit the students’ fluency in the English language. Students’ level of English must be Intermediate 2 (according to Pacific-Global Language Centre’s Placement Test).

7. Part-Time Test Preparation (TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS)
Since there are no afternoon classes, students will have many opportunities for self-directed studies or to explore the Greater Vancouver area. Students’ level of English must be Intermediate 2 (according to Pacific-Global Language Centre’s Placement Test).
Hours Per Week: 15

8. Evening Test Preparation (TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS)
This program is ideal for students who want to be fully prepared for the TOEFL/TOEIC/ITELTS examinations while taking other daytime classes. Students’ level of English must be Intermediate 2 (according to Pacific-Global Language Centre’s Placement Test).

Youth Programs

Specialized Studies

A. The Bridge Program for Children & Youth
The Bridge Program is designed to help elementary and secondary school international students make a smooth transition from their school system into a Canadian school system. Small classes, a unique atmosphere and a popular extra-curricular activity program allow students to develop their skills and feel confident as they learn about our language and culture.
Wednesday afternoons are not only devoted to Physical Education but also to out-of-school excursions that help to familiarize our students with elementary or secondary school culture (i.e., visits to various public schools).

Holiday Programs

B. Holiday Language & Cultural Activity Program for Children & Youth
Take advantage of Vancouver’s exceptional natural environment while learning English. The following programs are excellent for students who are in Vancouver for a short time and want a structured recreational component to their learning. We’re always open to other activity suggestions.
Hours Per Week: 30 (variable)

Summer (July and August only)
Activities may include: Golfing, hiking, whale watching, fishing, white-water rafting, horseback riding, sightseeing (bird sanctuary, botanical gardens, provincial parks), dining and shopping.

Winter (January and February only)
Activities may include: Curling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, sight-seeing (museums, theatres, cinemas), dining and shopping.
