Accommodation in Bournemouth

EF Homestay

Living in a private home offers a warm and secure way to immerse yourself in the daily life of your new country. Many of our families have looked after EF students for many years and are familiar with the challenges of living in a foreign country. Many of the customs you observe will be very different from those you are used to at home. The family routine and the food you eat may be different from at home.

Homestay is the right option for you:

  • If you are interested in a welcoming and supportive native speaking living environment.
  • If you would like to experience local culture 24 hours a day.
  • If you are interested in establishing lifetime contacts with your host family.

Our homestay program boasts a strong network of local families – all accommodation is carefully inspected by the accommodation officer and our host families are chosen for their kind welcome and supportive attitude. Your homestay hosts provide breakfast and dinner each day, and lunch at weekends if you are at home. There is an EF Cafeteria at the school, where you can purchase snacks and drinks throughout the day. Your average travel time from your homestay to school is 30-40 minutes.

EF International Homeshare

EF International Homeshare allows you to share a private home with a local family and a group of EF students with a more independent residence – type atmosphere. Please note this accommodation option is not suitable for students under the age of 16. There may be more than 4 students per household.

EF Residential living

Are you looking for a more independent and flexible living option? You may decide to live in our international student residence, which is a 5-10 minute walk from the school, town centre and beach. Most rooms are twin or triple with en suite facilities so you will share with another student from a different country. The accommodation is half board which means students in the residence are provided with breakfast and dinner. For snacks and small meals during the day students can buy provisions in the EF Bournemouth Cafeteria. In the summer (and groups anytime): Additional residence beds in nearby hotels, just 5-10 mins from school that also offer Half board.

A residence is the right option for you:

  • If you want to be within easy traveling distance to the EF school and city center.
  • If you want the ultimate flexibility in how you live – often with self-catering facilities.
  • If you want to the experience of living in the heart of your host city while maintaining high independence.
