Intensive English course in Cambridge:

If you want to make maximum progress when learning the English language, we recommend the Intensive course. It will have you speaking and writing with confidence in the shortest possible time. The Intensive English course is offered for all levels of English, from Beginner to Intermediate and you can start studying any week. So that you can continue your learning English after you return home, we also offer the online post-course free of charge for 3 months after your course, and if you book 4 weeks or longer you get 6 months free access. An EF Intensive English course includes 30 lessons per week (total tuition time of 25 hours):

  • 14 x General Language lessons, based on the Efekta Systemâ„¢.
  • 6 x iLab lessons
  • 1 lecture (double lesson)
  • 10 x Special Interest Lessons (for example Communication Skills, Grammar, Vocabulary)

Total: 32 x 40 min lessons per week = 21 hrs and 20 mins

General English course in Cambridge:

The General course is carefully structured to help you communicate clearly in every day life. It is offered for all levels of English and you can choose how long you want to study, from 2 weeks to 52 weeks, each 6 weeks you’ll move up an English level. EF General courses start every Monday and include:

  • 14 x General Language lessons, based on the Efekta System
  • 6 x iLab lessons
  • 1 lecture (double lesson)
  • 4 x Special Interest Lessons (for example Communication Skills, Grammar, Vocabulary)

Total: 26 x 40 min lessons per week = 17 hrs and 20 mins

Basic English course in Cambridge:

Our Basic course is offered to students at all levels of English and allows to you maximize your free time during your language course. The course will help you understand and speak English in practical situations. Learn the English language with 20 lessons (40 minutes) per week you’ll plenty of time to relax, make friends and enjoy discovering your surroundings. The course is comprised of:

  • 14 x 40 min General Language (Basic Studies)
  • 4 x Special Interest Lessons (for example Communication Skills, Grammar, Vocabulary)
  • 1 lecture (double lesson)

Total: 20 x 40 min lessons per week = 14 hrs and 40 mins

Note: Basic course is only offered in the Summer and the length may vary from 2 to 12 weeks, please see our brochure for start dates.

Internship course in Cambridge:

Plunge into the working world – you’ll experience your host culture in a whole different way with the EF Internship Program! First, take a 4-6 week EF Intensive or General Program to focus on improving your language ability. With the included internship preparation sessions you will prepare for your internship by covering CV or resume writing and interviewing skills.

After your program, you will be placed in a company matching your interests and abilities in the Cambridge area and at the same time you will improve your English language skills. You will work part-time at an unpaid internship where you’ll develop industry-specific language skills, build a personal network, gain international perspective and explore your potential as you work alongside native speakers. The Internship in England is a minimum of 9 weeks and that includes approximately 50-100 intern hours.

At the conclusion of your program, you will make a formal presentation and receive the EF Internship Certificate. Your perspectives will be more global, your CV more attractive and your language skills will be ready for the real world! An EF internship enables you to:

  • improve your language skills
  • gain practical work experience
  • develop an in-depth understanding of your host country’s business culture
  • improve your CV

All internships in England are also eligible to receive a Cambridge Certificate of Work Experience.

English exam preparation courses in Cambridge

Cambridge exam course

14 lessons are Specialist Exam Preparation. They will follow an exam preparation course book and concentrate on exam skills, as well as advancing their general level of English.

6 x iLab lessons per week focusing on exam preparation

10 x SPINs. Students can choose one subjects from the list of subjects described in the General Course section and in addition can chose:

  • Skills for the Cambridge Exams - Allows for extra training in skills required to maximize their score potential in a Cambridge exam.
  • TOEFL - In addition to their chosen Cambridge Exam, students can also take an option in TOEFL test preparation.
  • IELTS - option may also be available if demand allows.

1 lecture (double lesson)

Total: 32 x 40 min lessons per week = 21 hrs and 20 mins

TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS exam course

14 x General Language lessons, based on the Efekta Systemâ„¢. Students will be in mixed classes with General students, and possibly Basic students. They will study from a course book, provided for them at school

6 x iLab lessons per week

4-10 x TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS lessons. Students work on past papers, written and computer-based tests. The computer-based test has four sections: listening, structure (grammar & vocabulary), reading and writing.

Students receive either a TOEFL practice book or materials. Some lessons may take place in the iLab using practice tests.
