Intensive Spanish course in Costa Rica:
If you want to make maximum progress with your Spanish, we recommend the Intensive course. It will have you speaking and writing with confidence in the shortest possible time. The Intensive Spanish course is offered for all levels of Spanish, from Beginner to Intermediate and you can start studying any week. So that you can continue your learning after you return home, we also offer the online post-course free of charge for 3 months after your course, and if you book 4 weeks or longer you get 6 months free access. An Intensive Spanish course includes 30 lessons per week (total tuition time of 25 hours),:
- 14 x General Language lessons
- 6 x iLab lessons
- 1 lecture (double lesson)
- 10 x SPINs
Total: 32 x 40 min lessons per week = 21 hrs and 20 mins
General Spanish course in Costa Rica:
The General course is carefully structured to help you communicate clearly in every day life. It is offered for all levels of Spanish and you can choose how long you want to study, from 2 weeks to 52 weeks, each 6 weeks you’ll move up an Spanish level. General courses start every Monday and include:
- 14 x General Language lessons
- 6 x iLab lessons
- 1 lecture (double lesson)
- 4 x SPINs.
Total: 26 x 40 min lessons per week = 17 hrs and 20 mins
Basic Spanish course in Costa Rica:
Our Basic course is offered to students at all levels of Spanish and allows to you maximize your free time during your language course. The course will help you understand and speak Spanish in practical situations. With 20 lessons (40 minutes) per week you’ll plenty of time to relax, make friends and enjoy discovering your surroundings. The course is comprised of:
- 14 x 40 min General Language (Basic Studies) lessons
- 4 x Special Interest Lessons (for example Communication Skills, Grammar, Vocabulary)
- 1 lecture (double lesson)
Total: 20 x 40 min lessons per week = 14 hrs and 40 mins

Spanish exam preparation courses in Costa Rica:
The DELE exams, officially recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture and a worldwide accredited diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language. can be split into 3 different levels (Corresponds to B1, B2 and C2 according to the European reference Framework):
- DELE Certificado Inicial
- DELE Certificado Basico
- DELE Certificado Superior
The exam has 5 tests covering reading, writing, speaking , listening, grammar and vocabulary. The exam can be taken in one's home country or at an exam centre in the country of the school. In Costa Rica you will study Spanish and work on intensive Spanish vocabulary building, while also learning valuable test-taking techniques for example by doing timed practice tests from past exams.
Course content
- 14 x General Spanish lessons
- 4 x language lab and 2 x integrated video/ project work/ conversation sessions
- 10 x examination preparation and/or special interest lessons. Students work on past papers, written and computer-based tests. The computer-based test has four sections: listening, structure (grammar & vocabulary), reading and writing.
- 1 lecture (double lesson)
Total: 32 x 40 min lessons per week = 21 hrs and 20 mins
Internship course in Costa Rica:
Plunge into the working world – you’ll experience your host culture in a whole different way with the Internship Program! First, take a 4-6 week Intensive or General Program to focus on improving your language ability. With the included internship preparation sessions you will prepare for your internship by covering CV or resume writing and interviewing skills.
After your program, you will be placed in a company matching your interests and abilities in the Costa Rica area. You will work part-time at an unpaid internship where you’ll develop industry-specific language skills, build a personal network, gain international perspective and explore your potential as you work alongside native speakers. The Internship in England is a minimum of 9 weeks and that includes approximately 50-100 intern hours.
At the conclusion of your program, you will make a formal presentation and receive the Internship Certificate. Your perspectives will be more global, your CV more attractive and your language skills will be ready for the real world! An internship enables you to:
- improve your language skills
- gain practical work experience
- develop an in-depth understanding of your host country’s business culture
- improve your CV

Academic year Program in Costa Rica
Study a combination of Spanish language studies and academic subjects to gain complete language fluency and official international diplomas for your career or combine long-term Spanish studies with specialized, career-oriented coursework. The Academic Year Abroad Programs’ curriculum is designed to give you advanced communication skills and an in-depth understanding of a range of academic subjects, regardless of your starting language abilities. Choose between the General Program or Intensive Program and begin your Academic Year Abroad.
