About Alicante
Alicante is a pleasant city which is located two hours south of Valencia, right on the Costa Blanca - one of the most beautiful Spanish coasts of the Mediterranean Sea.
The Romans called the city "Lucentum" city of light, capturing the character of this waterfront town filled with palm trees, which enjoys a pleasant climate most of the year.
The pace of the city life is relaxed and peaceful. People walk along the beautiful avenues and promenades and enjoy a coffee, Horchata (tiger nut milk), or a granizado (iced lemon drink).
Although the city of Alicante is the heart of tourism in the Costa Blanca, it is a place where no one feels like a tourist because it retains its charm as a Spanish university city. The night life is influenced by students who fill the bars in the old town and port area which are awake until dawn.
Despite its 330,000 inhabitants, Alicante is a town where almost everything is within walking distance, and neighbors know each other by name.
Stylish boulevards, the modern yacht port, the picturesque and architectonically interesting old town quarter, modern shopping districts, and the palm-lined sandy beaches provide a lot of variety and remain in visitor’s memories for years to come.
